Before you are going to clean your contact lenses, you have to make some preparations. You need to make sure that your hands are certainly clean. Since hands can easily collect bacteria, it is possible when you take the contact out, the bacteria can get into your eyes. So, you have to wash your hand carefully.
The other preparation is to clean your contact lenses. You need to rinse them with contact solution or very hot water. Do not use normal tap water for washing out the lens case because the bacteria from the water can infect the case.
The next thing that you have to do is to use the proper solution. Choosing the solution can depend on the types of the lenses that you have. There are saline solutions, storing, and used for rinsing. Besides, there are also other cleaning solutions that are intended for only disinfecting and not for storing. The multi-purpose solutions combine disinfecting, cleaning, rinsing, and storing all together.
Moreover, you need to remove your contact lens and then place it on the palm of your hand. After that, you need to rinse it with contact solution thoroughly, including rinsing solution and multi-Purpose Solution that followed by the disinfecting solution. It is also a good idea for you to use rub for your contact lenses in a way to remove any proteins and particles that are built up on the surface of the contacts.
Lastly, you have to make sure that you store your lenses correctly. You need to place them in the case and leave them for about six hours to neutralize. During this time, do not use the lenses because it can cause severe pain in your eyes.
